When you think of living on a farm you think … animals. When I think animals, I think work! So, while my wife would like horses and goats and chickens, I would like to go away occasionally without worrying about how to feed the animals. We already have a dog that has outlived his expiration date by three years, luckily we have great neighbors that come in and take care of him while we’re gone.

We do have plenty of “farm animals”, however, that don’t require feeding or maintenance…

Soon after we moved in we discovered that 5 baby foxes were living in our barn. Jeanie wanted to “cuddle” with them…
They were playful little things… and curious when they were young…

Turns out we also had a vulture living in the barn… A favorite activity was to check to see if Feo (yes, we named it) was home. Here is Feo with a friend. Following are a few clips of close encounters…
On my way out of the driveway one morning this guy was wandering across the road.. we decided to put him back in the creek so he wouldn’t become turtle puree…
There are plenty of frogs…
Wild Turkey Too!

Groundhogs and Deer regularly appear

One morning while all of our kids were visiting we had a special visitor for breakfast … my cousin and her family were also camping on the property… he was headed right towards them!
And, of course there is Taz …

With all these “farm animals” why would we want any more????
