Wow, it has been a long time since we have posted an update! A lot has been going on so I will do a partial update now and follow up with some later posts… Our instagram @crazyfixerupper follows the day to day and is mostly up to date… so if you follow us there, a lot of this will be familiar.
The staircases were a huge project! I provided a lot of unwanted and unqualified suggestions as Jeanie did almost all of the work on both the front and back staircases. As I look at the results it is obvious that my involvement paid off… The front staircase was in a previous post, but, not with the person that transformed them… so we’ll show them again.

The back staircase just sort of festered for a long time until Jean had had enough and decided to finish them off…
Here is the before and after:

After doing several rooms for her, Jeanie decided to work on one of the most important rooms in the house… my office

After she had done all the work we decided to take out the door and add overhead lighting… so we tore it all apart…

And then put it back together again… the lighting made a huge difference!

She will not be happy that I included that picture of her! Eventually we will install the flooring and base boards…
In preparation for Christmas we needed to move our clothes out of the upstairs closets… a little bit of a problem since we had no closet yet in the master to put them in… Jean decided that we needed to build her closet (not sure why she didn’t decide that we needed to build my closet? hmm…). So we built the walls, rewired the electrical, installed the flooring, moved the access point to the attic, and installed shelving. We were able to use mostly repurposed wood for our shelving and floors so the project was very cost efficient.

We got the inside of the closet done in time for Christmas… 5 months later we are almost done with my closet and the outside walls. Too many other whimsical projects that Jeanie has dreamed up along the way… I will save most for another post. Just a couple of updates before I end:

We were in a mad rush to finish critical projects before the Christmas Crowd arrived… luckily we got most of them done and all 15 1/2 of us were able to fit comfortably…

That will have to do for now! Lots more to catch up on… hopefully soon.
What an amazing job, I loved how you lightened the entryway and the stairs and also that bathroom gonna have to copy that in mind ! Sharrie Ann Jackson
Really impressive-the vision, work and the result.
