Last summer, when we got a chance to start exploring the property, we found a beautiful meadow. We couldn’t do much with it at the time because the vegetation was 4 to 5 feet tall. When we mowed it down this spring we found a small fire-pit, ropes, tent stakes, and tarps. It appears that someone had used this area for camping. Jeanie wanted a fire-pit but didn’t want it close to the house because she thinks it makes the house smell like a camp-fire. A short hike from the house, this area appeared to be the perfect solution…

We saved some of the rocks from the original fire-pit We needed more rocks and more rocks… and river rock and more river rock 6,000 pounds of river rock – enough to get the trailer stuck in the mud! We bought some adirondack chairs and gathered some logs… to make benches

If we ever take a break from the projects, maybe we’ll get a chance to try it out!
